At 2:49 a box was transmitted
for a building fire in the area of Highland and
Crystal Lake, on Christmas morning. At
2:53, Police arrived and confirmed a working fire advising
fire units to use caution due to the pole being involved and wires burning.
Chief Medes(15101) arrived at 2:57 and reported a warehouse 40x100 with heavy
fire conditions in one area of the building. The All Hands was sounded on
arrival. First arriving Engine Companies went in operation with multiple 2 ½”
hand lines from and exterior attack. At 3:05 the 2nd alarm was
transmitted. 2nd Alarm consisted of a full station response from
Collingswood
and Audubon as the FAST Team. At 3:12 Command reported 2 2 ½” hand lines in
operation with companies forcing entry into the garage area of the building. A 3rd
line was being stretched and command reported companies were making good
progress. Companies continued an exterior attack on the office are while crews
entered the garage area to check for extension. The fire was placed under
control at 3:39.No firefighter injuries were reported. The
building was not occupied at the time of the fire. The Camden County Fire
Marshals and Haddon Township Police Department have the fire under investigation
at this time.
